Efforts to support HFHOC
by Hartwick College:

Peggy Jenkins' J-term Ethics class at Hartwick College is doing a media blitz for HFHOC. They're making posters, re-designing the HFHOC brochure, contacting radio stations and newspapers, AND tomorrow (Wednesday, February 1st), between about 9:30 and 11:30 AM, they will be painting "The Wall" at Hartwick with our logo, etc. In addition to doing all this, they have raised the money to pay for the paint, etc. They contacted Office Max, which is donating duplication services for the posters and brochures.

This is an incredibly wonderful way for the class to "give back" to the community - Peggy Jenkins feels that part of Ethics is giving back. We thank her and all the students for their hard work and enthusiasm!

Dennis Murray
We miss you!
D Murry photo
Dennis Murray
was one of the very best of us. He volunteered, then supervised. He supervised construction when we were working on one, two, and three homes at once! And he still donated half his time (essentially doubling his workload) while he worked as our paid supervisor.
Later, he drew up our house plans, even when he was home and not well. As one of our volunteers described, "He had a twinkle about him." He was always pleasant to be around. And one of his last wishes was for those who wanted to honor his memory, to donate to our Habitat Chapter.
The"CONTRIBUTE HERE" buttontakes you to our PayPal accunt, where you can donate in his name. Be sure to mention Dennis in the "notes" section there. We sincerely thank all of Dennis's family for sharing him with us. _______________

Our biggest need is land!

We are currently looking for a building plots in the Oneonta and Cooperstown School District. If you are able to donate a plot, or know of some inexpensive land for sale anywhere in the county, please either email us or call 432-7874

Our WISH LIST:

This is a list of stuff that we sure wish we had. If you are of a mind to donate any of these things, we’d be proud to take it. And remember, your donations are tax-deductible and we can supply you with a receipt. Call our office at 432-7874, leave a message about how you can help, and we'll get back to you..

Pennies from Heaven:

Cash – we are always grateful to receive, in any amount. And stop by our office to check out our Habitat merchandise – books, hammers, notecards – all priced to sell!

All your worldly goods:

We urgently need refreshments for our laborers. Lunches, morning snacks, and cases of bottled water, juice, iced tea, lemonade, and sports beverages would be terrific.
And, for our public relations and speaking engagements, we would really love a “Show Style” brand display briefcase. It’s sort of like a tri-fold poster board, but very sturdy, durable, and portable.

We need people to volunteer behind the scenes
on our family, fundraising, public relations, and volunteer committees. And people for our Board of Directors. For a relatively small donation of your time, you will receive a world of fun and friendship in return.
We would like a person who has the experience and contacts to promote us to local and county governments.
We would also like a person with photo/video experience who could develop a promotional video!
And if you have specific building skills to bring to the site
(and maybe a desire to teach or lead a small crew) – wow!
